Year-Round Weather & Climate

Average temperatures, precipitation, wind dynamics, and UV index guidelines across the year.

Climate Overview

The Mediterranean climate of Sardinia features hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The inland plains and hilltop plateaus exhibit significant temperature swings between day and night. During June, daytime temperatures average around 26°C to 30°C (78.8°F to 86°F), whilst nighttime minimums cool to 13°C to 17°C (55.4°F to 62.6°F).

Wind is a constant feature of the Sardinian climate, dominated by the cool, dry Mistral (Maestrale) from the northwest or the hot, humid Scirocco from the southeast. UV exposure is exceptionally high (index 8+) during the high summer months, necessitating high-protection sunscreen and wide-brimmed hats.
